Tourism Activities will Continue in the Elections Cycle – UTB


Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) has assured Ugandans and those interested in adventure, that although the government announced a public Holiday on 15th and 16th January 2026, during Electoral period, tourist activities will go on uninterrupted.

“Leading to the elections, Uganda has continued to enjoy a calm and stable environment across all tourism areas, including national parks, wildlife reserves, cultural sites, cities, adventure and hospitality establishments. Tourism activities are proceeding normally, with hotels, lodges, tour operators, attractions, and transport services operating without disruption.” Reads part of the statement
That, the government of Uganda,has put in place adequate security measures to ensure the safety of citizens and visitors across the country on the election day.
“UTB Continues to work closely with relevant government agencies as well as the private sector to ensure seamless visitor experiences across the country.”
Therefore, the Board encouraged visitors to “The Pearl of Africa” to proceed with their travel plans as scheduled.
