Wakiso– Sena Foundation, a Turkiye-based non-profit organization operating in Uganda, has established a multimillion educational centre—Sena High School for boys with a Nursery centre —complete with a storied magnificent mosque in Wamala village, near Akright Estate off Entebbe Highway, in the vicinity of the International Airport in Wakiso District.
The centre was officially commissioned last week, after Friday Juma congregational prayers. His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Hafiz Muhammad Harunah Bukenya, the 2nd Deputy Mufti, represented His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda, while H.E. Mr. Ramazan Pehlivanoglu, Islamic Religious Attaché at the Turkiye Embassy in Uganda, represented H.E. Mehmet Fatih Ak, the Turkiye Ambassador, as Guest of Honor.
In his remarks, Dr. Sheikh Bukenya praised Sena Foundation for implementing yet another social transformation project in Uganda, adding to the numerous initiatives they have rolled out since establishing operations in the country. “We are indeed humbled and so grateful to Almighty Allah for enabling us to observe prayers in a newly opened mosque on the last Friday in December 2025,” Sheikh Bukenya said.
He also addressed congregants, urging them to remain God-conscious and uphold peace and stability, especially ahead of the forthcoming national elections in early 2026. “We remind you that it is Almighty Allah who chooses leaders. So go and vote wisely and leave everything to Him; thereafter, your responsibility is to be obedient to the elected leadership,” he advised.
