Two people killed in Western Cape taxi rank shooting

Western Cape Police are investigating a double murder after two men were shot at the Witsand taxi rank in Atlantis.
Police Spokesperson FC van Wyk says one of the victims died on the scene and the other at a nearby hospital.
He says the Taxi Violence Investigation Unit is probing the matter.
Van Wyk says, “According to reports, SAPS members attended to a shooting incident at the mentioned address and upon their arrival they found the body of a male person with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.”
“Another male was also shot and rushed to hospital, but later died at the hospital due to injuries sustained. Circumstances surrounding this shooting incident are under investigation.”
He adds: “It is currently unclear how many gunmen were involved. Investigations continues. This case docket was transferred to the Provincial Detectives: Taxi Violence Investigations Unit.”
