UCU Canons, KCCA Panthers In Decisive Game Three

Wednesday, August 14*UCU Canons Vs KCCA Panthers (1-1) – Lugogo, 7:30pm

UCU Canons and KCCA Panthers are set to clash in the decisive game three of the National Basketball League quarterfinal playoffs on Wednesday at Lugogo Indoor Arena.

The winner will secure the last spot in the semifinal series.

The match was initially scheduled to be played on August 2 before it was rescheduled due to the concluded 3×3 Africa Cup.

KCCA Panthers forced this do-or-die game by defeating the Canons 79-62 in Game Two about two weeks back.

This came after a dominant 80-60 victory by UCU in Game One, setting the stage for a thrilling finale.

KCCA, having beaten UCU twice during the regular season, will fancy their chances heading into Wednesday’s game.

Their robust team defense in Game Two left the Canons struggling to keep up with their intensity and physical play.

For UCU Canons, who have reached the finals twice before, experience and pedigree will be crucial.

However, their frontcourt players, Peter Sifuma and Joel Kayira, underperformed in Game Two, scoring just 7 and 8 points respectively. And their contributions will be vital if UCU is to out-rebound KCCA, a key factor in determining who will face City Oilers in the best-of-five semifinal series.
