Uganda Cricket, Batball Renew Partnership

Uganda Cricket Association and Batball Uganda have renewed their partnership after a period of unwinding that had spanned a year.

The new partnership will run for four years, with Batball’s vision remaining unaltered. As a company centered on the development of cricket at youth level, Batball will under this new agreement work closely with UCA’s Schools Development Program to organize underage events.

Unlike last year that had only a two-stage tournament (Batball Open and Batball X), Batball has introduced another stage dubbed the Batball Maxx.

While Batball Open and Batball X will be regionally centered, Batball Maxx will be the ultimate phase, and it will feature selected players from the first two stages who will compete alongside/against the national team side and selected players across Africa.

The first edition of the Batball Maxx is slated to take place at the end of this year, and it will feature four teams. Each team will have in their XI at least four players from the Batball biome.

Since their first operation in Uganda in 2022, Batball has organized two boys’ tournaments thus far.

The Batball Open that was played across five regions namely Nile, Central, Northern, Eastern and Western, and that ran from December 2022 to April 2023, and the Batball X that was held in August last year.

The two events were a success; Batball will be aiming for the same when their Maxx product finally gets underway in December.
