Uganda Martyrs Secondary School Namugongo has registered outstanding performance in the 2023 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations.

The Head Teacher, Rev. Fr. Henry Kasasa, applauded the Senior Four candidates for their exceptional results. He made the remarks during a thanksgiving Mass held at Uganda Martyrs Basilica Namugongo, attended by candidates, parents, and teachers.

Rev. Fr. Kasasa revealed that a total of 614 students sat for the UCE examinations. Of these, 261 passed with Division One (As), 284 obtained Division Two (Bs), and 245 attained Division Three (Cs).

He attributed the school’s success to God’s guidance and commended the students for their resilience and ability to quickly adapt to the new curriculum. He also expressed gratitude to the School Management Committee for their unwavering support and dedication.

Among those recognised were Alex Nakibinge, Dean of Biological Sciences; Mark Kasibante; Agnes Ssegujja, a CRE teacher; and Samuel Kuwanika, a Geography teacher, whose collective efforts contributed to the excellent performance.

Some of the top-performing students included Precious Kisakye, who scored nine As and one B; Melissa Anywar with eight As and two Bs; Marion Namara with six As and four Bs; and Aiden Tendo Namukulunge, who obtained two As and eight Bs.

The students attributed their success to fear of God, hard work, and discipline.
