Unisa’s Vice-Chancellor dismisses assessor’s findings as unfounded – SABC News


University of South Africa (Unisa) Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Puleng LenkaBula, has dismissed the report of the Independent Assessor into Unisa’s affairs. She described its findings as unfounded and misleading.Unisa has since obtained an interdict against the report. LenkaBula says despite all the controversies the institution has performed exceptionally well in its finances over the past couple years.She said this during a stakeholder engagement at the institution’s Pretoria Campus.“ We also have had clean audits, unqualified audits, and are acting on some of the findings that want us to enrich our governance systems. And finally, I can say without any hesitation, Unisa complies with the governance systems as required by the law. And on finances, we also make sure that we have an investment committee that advises me as the Vice-Chancellor and Management Committee on how we optimise the resources of the university and use them well as we are demanded by the publics and by our society.”
