Uganda Premier League action returns to Bombo Barracks Military Ground as UPDF FC hosts newcomers Lugazi FC, both seeking their first victory of the season.
UPDF started their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Maroons FC, thanks to Zzinda Hussein’s equalizer in the 89th minute.
In contrast, Lugazi faced a tough debut, losing 3-0 to Uganda Cup champions Kitara at their home ground in Najjembe.
Lugazi is determined to bounce back and secure their first points and goals in the league against UPDF.
Ahead of the match, Lugazi Head Coach Sadiq Sempiji expressed optimism about his team’s prospects.
“We’ve learned from our 3-0 loss to Kitara FC and have been working tirelessly to refine our tactics, strengthen our defense, and enhance our attack,” said Coach Sempiji.
“This game is an opportunity for us to bounce back and showcase our best performance. We’re determined to secure a positive result.”
Acknowledging UPDF FC’s strengths, Sempiji added, “UPDF FC is a formidable team, and playing at their home ground will be challenging. However, the good pitch conditions will allow our game to flow, and we’re eager to capitalize on that.”
