UPL: URA Unveil Abraham Tusubira
URA have formally announced the acquisition of industrious midfielder Abraham Tusubira.
The midfielder, who registered the most assists (10) in the Uganda Premier League (UPL) last season has joined the Nakawa-based side on a three-year contract, from Maroons.
“We are delighted to announce the signing of attacking midfielder Abraham Tusubira,” the Tax Collectors confirmed on Tuesday.
Tusubira’s outstanding contribution for Maroons earned him a spot in the UPL Team of the Season, and he narrowly missed out on the Best Midfielder Award which went to Ronald Ssekiganda, who won the league trophy with SC Villa.
As URA head coach Alex Isabirye looks to strengthen his squad for the 2024/25 UPL campaign, the playmaker will without a doubt add depth to the star-studded squad.Tusubira is only the second player to be officially unveiled by the Tax Collectors so far, after another midfielder Isma Mugulusi.
However, URA have also signed Derrick Ochan from KCCA, Abdul Magada from Gadaffi, Ibrahim Kazindula from BUL and defender Bright Vuni from UPDF.
Meanwhile, the club has also confirmed the exit of Ronald Andabati, Najib Fesali, Viane Ssekajugo, Eric Ssenjobe, Said Kyeyune, Ibrahim Dada, Samuel Mwaka, with other players like James Alitho also on the way out.
