Mukono is on fire—again! Top commercial banks have reportedly slapped a TOTAL BAN on land titles from the Mukono belt after being roasted by a deadly cocktail of forgery, double-titling, and land-office witchcraft that has left loan officers gnashing teeth and boardrooms trembling.
Sources whisper that banks have been bleeding billions after clever city mafias marched in with “fresh” land titles—only for banks to discover, during loan recovery, that another owner already existed… with an even fresher title.
“Some titles had THREE owners. THREE!” one furious banker exploded.
The situation got so rotten that banks described Mukono land titles as “radioactive collateral”—touch at your own risk.
Last year, the Mukono Zonal Land Office was shut down, padlocked and quarantined like a crime scene. The State House Anti-Corruption Unit pitched camp, combing through piles of suspicious documents allegedly cooked by crooked officials and land cartels.
A shocking 1,200 titles—yes, over a thousand—were confirmed fake, overlapping, or outright manufactured. Blocks 190, 193, and 530 became the “Ground Zero of forgery,” and in June 2025, the Ministry officially cancelled the entire batch, sending shockwaves through Mukono landowners.
Now banks say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Until Mukono cleans house, anyone walking into a banking hall with a Mukono title is met with the same response: “WE DON’T KNOW MUKONO.”
