RELIEF! TMR Revises Greenhill Pupil’s Medical Bill to Sh80m, Body Released for Burial

Fresh details have emerged in the heartbreaking case of the Greenhill Primary (Buwate) pupil Augustine Kizito who died three weeks after a mysterious fall at school. The family has now reportedly been handed a revised medical bill of Sh80 million from TMR International Hospital, down from the earlier reported Sh150m.
According to relatives, the bill was first adjusted to Sh100m before being further reduced to Sh80m. Despite the financial concerns, the hospital has since released the body to allow the family proceed with burial scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday.
TMR, however, insists it never detained the child’s body over unpaid bills, dismissing circulating claims as “entirely unfounded.”
In an official statement, the hospital expressed sympathy for the grieving family:
“Augustine’s passing is a profound loss. Despite the tireless efforts of our medical team and the full spectrum of interventions provided, we were unable to save his life.”
The hospital outlined several clarifications regarding the child’s treatment and billing process:
The family received full clinical, administrative, and financial support from admission until the child’s passing.
Multiple meetings were held to review care plans and address financial concerns.
The option to transfer Augustine to another ICU-capable facility was offered but declined by the family, who preferred to continue care at TMR.
The hospital extended a substantial discount and a revised payment plan.
Claims that the bill hit Sh150m were dismissed as false.
The hospital maintained that the child’s body was never withheld or delayed over payment issues.
TMR urged the media to report responsibly and avoid spreading misinformation that may distress the bereaved family.
“TMR International Hospital remains committed to professionalism, transparency, and excellence in healthcare,” the statement reads.
