Transfer Speculation: St Noa Girls Poach from El Cambio Ahead of League Return

By Kayiira Jackson
With the second round of the 2025/26 Finance Trust Bank Women Super League set to resume on 21st February, St Noa Girls FC appear to be strengthening their squad in a bid to improve on their first-round showing.
The Zana-based side, who finished the first round 7th on the league table with 13 points, enjoyed a mixed but promising opening half of the season and are now looking to mount a stronger push in the second stanza of the campaign.
Sources at the club’s training ground indicate that two players from El Cambio Academy, one of the most respected football academies in Uganda in recent years, have been spotted training with St Noa Girls.

The players in question are Martha Babirye, a highly rated fullback and a member of the Uganda U-17 national team, and Immaculate Acen Nangobi, a forward who is also the sister to Sylvia Kabene and Lillian Nakirya.
While their presence has fueled excitement among St Noa supporters, it is yet to be officially confirmed how the duo parted ways with El Cambio — a club known for its firm stance on releasing players, especially to teams and schools outside Masaka.
Should St Noa Girls successfully complete the capture of Babirye and Nangobi, the additions would significantly boost both their defensive stability and attacking options. Such reinforcements could prove decisive as the club eyes an improved league finish and prepares for schools championships in the new sports calendar.
As the transfer window speculation starts, all eyes will be on whether St Noa Girls can turn these potential signings into a statement of intent for the remainder of the Women Super League season.
