It was a goal-fest on day one of the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Elite Games netball championship as giants Buddo Secondary School and St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School Kitende cruised to commanding victories at Janan Secondary School in Bombo.
Defending champions Buddo SS wasted no time asserting their dominance, running riot over hosts Janan SS Bombo Campus in a stunning 103-03 landslide victory. The emphatic scoreline immediately sent a strong warning to their title rivals, with Buddo showcasing sharp shooting, quick transitions, and disciplined defending to take early control of the standings.
In the second game of the day, St. Mary’s Kitende equally delivered a statement performance, defeating Namagabi Secondary School 59-25. The FEASSA champions displayed composure and tactical discipline throughout the encounter, steadily building their lead to seal a comfortable win.
The tournament resumes on Saturday, 28th February 2026, with two crucial fixtures lined up. In the morning clashes, St. Mary’s Kitende will lock horns with hosts Janan SS, while Buddo SS take on Namagabi SS as each side seeks to strengthen its position ahead of the decisive showdown.
All eyes, however, are firmly set on Sunday’s climax fixture between Elite and National reigning champions Buddo SS and FEASSA champions St. Mary’s Kitende — a highly anticipated contest expected to determine early bragging rights and possibly shape the destiny of this year’s title.
