USSSA Makindye Zonal Qualifiers: Battle for Regional Slots Commence on Tuesday

The stage is set for an exciting battle as the Makindye District Schools Games and Sports Association rolls out its highly anticipated fixtures, with secondary schools gearing up for a competitive three-day tournament scheduled from Tuesday, March 24 to Saturday, March 28, 2026.
A total of six schools will fight for supremacy in a round-robin format, with only three teams earning qualification to the Kampala regional qualifiers—raising the stakes for every fixture.
The action gets underway on Tuesday at Buziga Islamic Theological Institute grounds, where Gold Star High School will lock horns with hosts Buziga Islamic Theological Institute in the opening match. At the same time, St Mbuga Vocational Secondary School will face Kakungulu Memorial School, while Kibuli Secondary School takes on St Peter’s Senior Secondary School Nsambya in another early kickoff.
Day One will also feature crucial afternoon encounters, including a highly anticipated clash between St Mbuga Vocational SS and Gold Star High School, as well as Kibuli Secondary School battling Buziga ITI. Kakungulu Memorial School will later face St Peter’s SS Nsambya to wrap up the day’s fixtures.
The competition intensifies on Thursday, March 26, with more decisive matchups across multiple venues. Gold Star High School meets Kibuli Secondary School, while St Peter’s SS Nsambya hosts St Mbuga Vocational SS. Kakungulu Memorial School will also take on Buziga ITI in what promises to be a tightly contested affair.
Later in the day, St Peter’s SS Nsambya returns to face Gold Star High School, as Kibuli SS squares off with Kakungulu Memorial School. St Mbuga Vocational SS will conclude the day’s action against Buziga ITI.
The final day on Saturday, March 28, could see teams push for qualification spots. Kakungulu Memorial School will take on Gold Star High School, Buziga ITI faces St Peter’s SS Nsambya, and Kibuli Secondary School clashes with St Mbuga Vocational SS in potentially decisive fixtures.
With only three qualification slots available, every goal and point will count in what promises to be a fiercely contested tournament. Schools will be aiming not only for district glory but also for a chance to represent Makindye at the Kampala regional level.
