Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala and co-accused return to court

Alleged criminal kingpin Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala and four others are expected to be back in the High Court in Johannesburg.  
The legal team for Matlala’s wife, Tsakani Matlala, and one of the other accused in the matter have asked the state to withdraw charges against them.  
The five are alleged to be behind the attempted murder of socialite Tebogo Thobejane, businessman Joe Sibanyoni and music producer Seunkie Mokubung.   
During their last court appearance, lawyers for the fifth accused, Nthabiseng Nzama, indicated that the charges of money laundering against her will not stick and have asked the state to withdraw them. Tsakani Matlala’s legal team has also asked for the same.
The state told the court that it would mull over the request and provide feedback.
