UPDF FC’s standout forward, Faridi Rashid Achumu, is set to leave the club as his two-year contract expires in June.

The prolific young striker has been pivotal in UPDF FC’s performance this season, finishing as the club’s top scorer with 7 goals in 29 matches.

Achumu’s goal-scoring prowess has been crucial for UPDF FC, particularly in high-stakes matches.

He scored decisive goals against Busoga, Wakiso Giants, Bright Stars, KCCA, and Maroons. His goal against Wakiso Giants on the final day of the season ensured UPDF FC’s survival in the league.

Just four days prior, Achumu netted the winning goal against Maroons, showcasing his clutch performance in critical moments.

Faridi Rashid Achumu joined UPDF FC in 2022 from Synergy and made an immediate impact by scoring on his league debut in a 1-1 draw with Express at the Bombo Military Barracks Ground.

Despite a challenging debut season where he scored only once in 23 appearances, Achumu found his form in the following season, solidifying his role as a key player for the team.

Over his tenure with UPDF FC, Achumu has made 52 league appearances, netting 8 goals. His significant contributions have not gone unnoticed, with several clubs expressing interest in acquiring the talented forward.

Teams such as Busoga, Wakiso Giants, Bright Stars, KCCA, and Maroons have shown keen interest in securing his services, promising a competitive transfer market for the young star.

Achumu’s journey from the Sadolin Juniors Team to becoming a crucial player for UPDF FC underscores his development and potential.

Despite being linked with a move away from UPDF FC in January, the club managed to retain him until the end of the season.
