Nam Blazers are set to debut their latest acquisition, Arthur Wanyoto, as they face Livingstone in their opening second-round NBL match on Wednesday at the YMCA Court in Wandegeya.

Wanyoto’s signing, though pending official announcement by press time, is anticipated to boost the team’s performance after his notable stint with JKL Dolphins, where he averaged a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds across eight games in the first round.

His previous season with UPDF Tomahawks showed his consistent contribution, averaging 11.5 points and 9 rebounds.

Wanyoto’s addition is strategic for the Blazers, who bid farewell to Guddi ‘Kikiri’ Nasser and Geoffrey Soro.

With a desire to improve upon their three losses in the first round, the Blazers are eager to reverse their fortunes, especially after successive defeats to UCU Canons and D-mark Power to conclude the first round.

They aim to replicate their earlier victory over Livingstone, having secured a convincing 82-53 win in the first round.

Meanwhile, Livingstone’s second-round campaign began on a disappointing note, suffering a 59-80 defeat to KCCA Panthers.

Their ability to challenge the star-studded Blazers lineup, featuring talents like Innocent Ochera, Paul Odong, Joseph Chuma, Mike Makiadi, and Peter Cheng among others, remains uncertain.
