Baptist High, Kibuli SS stamp authority at USSSA Kampala netball qualifiers | Voice of Bugerere

Defending champions Baptist High School and hosts Kibuli SS underlined their title credentials with commanding performances as the USSSA Kampala zonal netball qualifiers threw off on Thursday at Kibuli SS.
The two-day championship has attracted 15  schools battling for six available slots to represent Kampala Region at the 2026 USSSA Ball Games II, scheduled for next month at Sacred Heart Secondary School in Gulu. The competition reaches its climax on Friday at Kibuli SS.
Baptist High School, seeking to retain their crown, sent an early warning to their rivals with emphatic victories over Kitebi SS and Mengo SS. The champions thrashed Kitebi SS 54-5 in their opening encounter before brushing aside Mengo SS 37-2 to comfortably progress to the knockout stages.
Hosts Kibuli SS also looked sharp, overpowering Chwa II Memorial 36-8 before registering another dominant display in a 36-4 victory over Lubiri SS. Their impressive run has reinforced their status as the main challengers to Baptist High School’s dominance.
Elsewhere, Kakungulu Memorial advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating St Kizito SS 32-10 and Lakeside Luzira 26-4, while Broadway High School remained unbeaten with victories over Luzira SS, Makerere College School and St Peter’s SS.

Luzira SS recovered from an opening defeat to Broadway High School to secure wins over St Peter’s SS and Makerere College School, earning a quarterfinal date with Kibuli SS.
Friday’s quarterfinal fixtures promise exciting contests as the race for the six qualification slots intensifies.
The semifinalists will automatically secure qualification to the national championship, while the remaining teams will continue battling for the available places to Gulu.
