This followed complaints disatisfication from both members of National Resistance Movement (NRM) and opposition members questioning why Mao a non NRM member joined NRM members in their retreat.
To prove his invitation to Kyankwanzi, Mao has posted an invitation letter from Hon. Richard Todwong, NRM Secretary General
“I am pleased to inform you that His Excellency the National Chairman of the National Resistance Movement has directed that you be invited to attend the NRM leaders retreat. This letter therefore serves to formally invite you to the retreat. You will be required to undertake a mandatory Covid-19 testing before traveling to NALI, where you will be taken through the process of accreditation, on arrival.” Reads part of the invitation letter
In the same letter, Todwong stated that H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni, in his capacity as the NRM National Chairperson has directed my office to organize a retreat for the incoming NRM Parliamentary Caucus – numbering close to 450 members.
He added that a  copy of programme was attached to this invitation.
