Mufti Praises Gateway Bus Boss for Sponsoring Muslims for 2026 Hajj

His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje has commended Abdullahi Hussein Shire for sponsoring eight Muslims to perform Hajj in the holy city of Makkah in 2026.

The beneficiaries, comprising six men and two women, are expected to join millions of Muslims from across the world during the annual pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
Speaking during a thanksgiving and farewell function held at the Tororo Muslim District on Sunday, May 10, 2026, the Mufti said Muslims who use their wealth responsibly by supporting the needy through Zakah and charitable acts receive blessings and protection from Almighty Allah.
“Many people have lost wealth due to natural calamities, while others are witnessing the collapse of their businesses because of greed that hardens the heart and leads them to neglect the obligation of Zakah. Wealth that is devoid of divine blessings cannot prosper,” Mufti Mubaje said.
He urged Muslims seeking prosperity to emulate Brother Shire by consistently giving alms and engaging in acts that promote community welfare and gratitude to Allah.
The Mufti also encouraged parents to prioritize both secular and Islamic education for their children to prepare them to become responsible citizens.
Earlier, several Muslim leaders addressed the congregation, including Sheikh Abdnoor Abdu-Malik Koire, who welcomed guests, and Dr. Sheikh Ahmad Hamid Wandega, who shared updates on the state of affairs in the region.
In his remarks, Shire thanked the Mufti for honouring the invitation and joining the Muslim community for the occasion.
Other notable leaders present included Sheikh Isah Ahmad Masaba, Sheikh Abdu-Hakim Mugoya, Sheikh Ramadhan Muserengu and Dr. Bishop Girado Olukoli.
