NRM Members Asked to Rally Behind NRM Candidate in Kikuube

Kikuube– The Minister of state for Bunyoro affairs Hon. Mary Mugasa has asked the people of Kikuube to unite behind the NRM candidate Paddy Kisembo to retain the district seat in the Thursday LC.5 by-election.

She urged the residents today in Kiziranfumbi sub county as she addressed the media after several meetings she held with different groups to come to a consensus.
“I want to thank God that at this point in time we are moving as a team. Everybody has been reconciled to follow the party position,” Mugasa said.
She also urged non voters in Kikuube to desist from fueling conflict for selfish interests.
“We thank Kikuube well-wishers who are from Hoima city, Kampala and other areas but please let us be. We want to handle the issues of Kikuube ourselves without interference to avoid future blame games,” Hon.Mugasa said.
She added, “Kikuube is 95% NRM. We don’t want our members to be misled into electing the opposition. Let us not embarrass ourselves. We set a good record and voted for President Museveni and flag bearers. Let us maintain that record.”
The NRM Director of Mobilisation Dr. Rosemary Seninde said reconciled teams understood the party position and pledged to support Paddy Kisembo to the end.
Hon. Seninde said they are not only looking at a mere win but they are also aiming to pull off a very big margin against the opposition candidate.
“Unlike in most by-elections that fetched very low voter turn up, we are working to ensure the Kikuube by-election attracts a very huge turn voter up,” Seninde said as she discouraged the people of Kikuube against supporting the opposition out of internal disgruntlement.
“We can’t afford to give an opportunity to the opposition to penetrate the Kikuube-an NRM stronghold. Voting the opposition can be a very big problem to NRM in future in Kikuube and Bunyoro sub region,” Seninde warned party supporters, urging them to guard against opposition penetration.
Mr. Paddy Kisembo said it is becoming clear that victory is “our way.”
We have reconciled with our fellow members that were disgruntled as they committed to support and canvas votes for me.
“It is a good thing and I anticipate an unprecedented big win” he said.
The NRM campaign team also includes Hon. Jane Alisemera Babiiha, Kikuube Woman MP Flora Natumanya and the District Executive Committee.
