Serious Business Begins As USSSA Boys Football Championship Enters Round Of 32 In Lira | Voice of Bugerere

The stage is finally set for the Round of 32 at the ongoing 2026 USSSA National Boys Football Championship in Lira City after an intense final day of group stage action produced dramatic results, decisive victories and crucial qualifications.
Traditional powerhouses, emerging contenders and surprise packages all booked their places in the knockout rounds, with Thursday’s fixtures now expected to deliver high-stakes football as teams chase national glory.
Record giants St Mary’s Kitende comfortably sealed their progress with a commanding 3-0 victory over Seroma Christian High School, while Lubiri Secondary School strengthened their title ambitions after defeating Bukedea Comprehensive School – North 2-0.
Elsewhere, Kitgum Standard High School produced one of the standout performances of the day with a dominant 4-1 win against Lumino High School, while Garama Secondary School cruised to a convincing 4-0 victory over Kazo Hill College.
Several tightly contested matches also highlighted the competitiveness of the tournament. Mvara Secondary School shared spoils with Bristol Secondary School in a thrilling 2-2 draw, while Madina Islamic Secondary School and Masaka Secondary School settled for a 1-1 stalemate.
With the group phase now concluded, attention shifts to the knockout stage where every match becomes a battle for survival, and any mistake could end a team’s dream of lifting the national championship trophy in Lira City.
