USSSA Qualifiers: Champions Again,Kawempe Muslim Rule Kawempe Division | Voice of Bugerere

Kawempe Muslim Secondary School were crowned champions of the 2026 USSSA Kawempe Division Qualifiers after an impressive campaign that saw them collect 17 points, finishing two points ahead of closest challengers Kazo Hill College.
The hosts sealed the title in front of their home crowd at Kawempe Muslim SS playground, capping off a competitive tournament that attracted eight schools from the division. Their final game ended in a 1-1 draw against Kazo Hill, a result that confirmed their dominance at the summit.
Kazo Hill College settled for second place with 15 points, earning a silver medal after a strong showing throughout the qualifiers. Caltec Academy completed the podium places, finishing third with 12 points to secure bronze and qualification to the Kampala regional stage.

In the final round of matches, Caltec Academy delivered the most emphatic result of the day, thrashing Oxford Muslim 8-1. Elsewhere, Highland SS edged Universal High School 1-0, while Gadafi Integrated Academy and Makerere College School played out a goalless draw.
Individual excellence was also recognized during the climax event. Miiro Wahab of Kazo Hill College emerged as the top scorer with six goals, while Kawempe Muslim’s Musanje Edrine was named best goalkeeper after conceding just two goals and keeping five clean sheets.
Bukenya Stephen was voted the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, also finishing with six goals to underline his influence. Makerere College School received the Fair Play Award for their discipline and sportsmanship.

The climax event was graced by Martin Nsimbi, who represented USSSA as the guest of honor.
Kawempe Muslim SS, Kazo Hill College, and Caltec Academy will now represent the Kawempe Division at the 2026 USSSA Kampala regional qualifiers, with Kawempe Muslim also celebrating back-to-back titles after retaining the trophy they won in 2025.
