ENTEBBE, (Examiner) – Former President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete of the United Republic of Tanzania paid a courtesy visit to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at State House Entebbe last evening.
President Museveni extended a warm welcome to the former Tanzanian leader, emphasizing the importance of addressing market challenges for the prosperity of East African people.
Highlighting the significance of strategic security within the East African Community (EAC), President Museveni stressed its role in safeguarding national interests.
In response, H.E. Kikwete conveyed greetings from Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan and expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended during his visit.
He commended President Museveni for his dedication to the formation of the East African Community and praised the organization of the inaugural Guild Leaders’ Annual Summit, which he attended as the Chief Guest at Makerere University on April 15, 2024.
