In a historic milestone for Uganda’s healthcare sector, Mulago National Referral Hospital has become the pioneer among public hospitals in Uganda to attain the prestigious Integrated Management Systems (IMS) certification for ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 during an official certificate handover ceremony held at Standards House Bweyogerere. These internationally recognised standards exemplify excellence in quality management, environmental stewardship, and occupational health and safety.
Eng. James Kasigwa, the UNBS Executive Director, highlighted the significance of this accomplishment:”This certification underscores Mulago National Referral Hospital’s dedication to operational excellence and continuous improvement. It aligns with Uganda’s national development priorities, fostering a culture of quality, safety, and environmental responsibility that will benefit patients, staff, and the broader community.”
This remarkable achievement sets a new benchmark for public health facilities across Uganda, inspiring a culture of quality and excellence within the healthcare sector.
