Vipers Stumble In League Title Bid

Tuesday, April 23•Vipers 1-1 Maroons

Vipers wasted a huge opportunity to take command in the title race after drawing 1-1 with Maroons in a league game at Kitende.

Captain Milton Karisa came off the bench to break Maroons resistance in the 53rd minute with a first-time finish after Yunus Sentamu had headed his way inside the area.

But their lead was erased ten minutes later, with Darius Ojok finding the equaliser with a deflected effort that left Vipers goalkeeper Alfred Mudekereza rooted to his line.

The move sees Vipers move joint top, level on 46 points with BUL who will be in action on Wednesday against NEC FC.

This result is a significant setback for Vipers, dropping two crucial points in the tightly contested title race, particularly after dethroning early pace setters Kitara last week

The result has sent waves of anticipation to other contenders BUL, Kitara and SC Villa as they seek to dent Vipers title defence.
