Makerere University Former Guild Presidents Shine in 2026 General Elections

Kampala– Makerere University has went further to prove that it’s the Ivory Tower which nurtures not only Academic giants, but also nurtures World class leaders.

In the recently concluded General elections, a number of its former Guild Presidents Contested in various elective positions and according to the results so far, majority were successful.
Among these were Dr. Shamim Nambassa ( 87th Guild President) who was elected to be Woman Councillor L.C V, Kawempe South.
Lawrence Alionzi (88th Guild President) is the Mayor elect for Arua City.
Maseruka Robert (89th Guild President) is the Member of Parliament (MP) elect for Mukono South.
Dennis Onekalit (78th Guild President) is the MP elect for Kitgum Municipality.
Anna Adeke Ebaju (81st Guild President) is the Woman MP, Soroti District.
However, Dr. Roy Ssemboga also , a former Guild President for Makerere University contested for Member of Parliament, Kawempe South, however he was defeated.
