President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has met Mr Stanley Johnson—author, former Member of the European Parliament, and father of former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson—during his visit to Uganda.
Mr Johnson toured several key tourism and conservation sites, including Mgahinga National Park, Kyambura Gorge, the Kazinga Channel, and the Source of the Nile in Jinja.
President Museveni welcomed the visit, saying it highlights the vital link between environmental conservation and tourism development. “I am pleased that he appreciates the strong link between our natural environment and tourism development,” the President noted.
The two leaders also discussed issues of mutual interest, particularly the importance of common markets and shared environmental policies. President Museveni once again welcomed Mr Johnson to Uganda and commended his interest in conservation and sustainable development.
