Ministers Re-assigned in Museveni’s New Cabinet Reshuffle


Kampala — President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, in his latest Cabinet reshuffle, has not only dropped several ministers but also reassigned a number of serving officials to different ministries in a move that signals a significant reorganization within government.

Some of the Re assigned Ministers.
Among the notable changes is Hon. Balaam Barugahare, who has been elevated from State Minister in the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development to a full Cabinet Minister role in the Ministry of Local Government.
Edward Katumba Wamala has been moved from the Ministry of Works and Transport to the Ministry of Public Service, replacing Hon. Muruli Mukasa.
Hon. Kiryowa Kiwanuka has been transferred from the office of Attorney General to become Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs, replacing Hon. Jacob Oboth Oboth, who has since become Speaker of Parliament.
In other changes, Hon. Sam Mayanja moves from State Minister for Lands to Attorney General, while Dr. Chris Baryomunsi has been shifted from the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance to head the Ministry of Health.
Hon. Jane Ruth Aceng leaves the Ministry of Health to take charge of the Ministry of ICT, Hon. Harunah Kasolo from Ministry of finance to Ministry of Foreign Affairs in charge of Regional Affairs, while Gen Kahinda Otafiire moves from Internal Affairs to Ministry of Water and Environment
Meanwhile, Hon. Dr. Monica Musenero has been reassigned from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, replacing Hon. Ruth Nankabirwa, who has been left out of the new Cabinet.
The reshuffle comes as President Museveni seeks to inject new leadership and reorganize government ministries through a mix of fresh appointments and strategic reassignments.
